Cambridge, MA - We are pleased to announce the 12 finalists for the sixth annual edX Prize for Exceptional Contributions in Online Teaching and Learning. The edX Prize is an annual award that celebrates the contributions and innovations of educators in the edX community, and amplifies the powerful role that online learning plays in the transformation of education today.
Higher ed has arguably been one of the sectors most impacted in the past 18 months by the COVID-19 pandemic, and this group of finalists exemplifies excellence in online teaching in this most challenging of times. From COVID-19 related courses teaching lifesaving skills, to courses in topics that helped learners ‘escape,’ explore and learn new things, this group of instructors represents what makes our partner consortium so incredible - their commitment to high quality learning for our over 40 million learners.
Last year, during the edX Virtual Forum, TU Delft Professors Andy van den Dobbelsteen, Eric van den Ham, and Researcher Tess Blom took home the 2020 edX Prize for their course, Zero-Energy Design: an approach to make your building sustainable. We are always excited to recognize the people in the edX community who make our learning experiences come to life - including our instructors, professors, course teams, researchers, and more!
Members of the edX University Advisory Board and Corporate Advisory Board will evaluate the 12 finalists and select a winner, which will be announced later this year.
