Cambridge, MA — edX.org, the trusted platform for learning, today announced the promotion of Dr. Nina Huntemann to Vice President of Learning. As the global learning landscape quickly adapts in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Huntemann's addition to the executive team will further enable edX to support institutions—both academic and corporate—implementing online learning strategies that maintain learning and business continuity.

In her new role, Huntemann will define and drive edX’s instructional and pedagogical strategy to maximize the capabilities of the edX platform and continue to improve learner outcomes. During her five years at edX, Huntemann, formerly Senior Director of Academics and Research, has played a leading role in creating groundbreaking and credit-grade credentials in the MicroMasters® programs and MicroBachelors® programs, and defining quality learning at scale for Master’s degrees on edX. Prior to joining edX, Huntemann was a tenured college professor with over 15 years of teaching, program administration and faculty development experience in higher education.

edX has pioneered innovation in online learning and research since its founding in 2012. The Learning team, which Huntemann heads, includes experts in corporate learning, postsecondary and adult education learning design and learning science. This group provides consultative services to edX partners, and is a leader in the global online teaching and learning community.

edX is here to support universities and colleges that are new to online teaching and learning with a new initiative that includes an event series and the launch of edX Online Campus. Huntemann, with edX CEO and Founder Anant Agarwal, will head up the first event, Teaching Online for Absolute Beginners.
