edX expands Online Campus to bring free online learning essentials to higher education institutions

edX is pleased to introduce Online Campus Essentials, a free learning solution designed to meet the needs of colleges and universities that are facing resource and technology constraints in the wake of COVID-19.

Cambridge, MA -- edX is pleased to introduce Online Campus Essentials, a free learning solution designed to meet the needs of colleges and universities that are facing resource and technology constraints in the wake of COVID-19. Many higher education institutions are experiencing ongoing impacts on teaching and learning, and this turnkey solution can assist in implementing blended and online learning. Online Campus Essentials is available for free to any accredited institution and allows their students to enroll through the end of July 2021.

Online Campus Essentials provides access to the core resources of edX: a robust active learning platform, high-quality content from leading universities and companies, and superior administrative and student experiences. Online Campus Essentials provides:

  • The foundational components  - courses, tools, and data - that higher education institutions can leverage and use to introduce online learning and its resources to their campus.
  • Unlimited access to over 100 specially-selected courses in the most in-demand and emerging topics for academic and career success, from leading universities and companies.
  • Easy use, administration, and scalability across any class or campus.

This announcement builds off the demand we saw when we launched edX Online Campus earlier this year to help universities accelerate their move to online teaching and learning. Our edX Online Campus solution continues to serve the needs of higher ed organizations with access to enhanced catalogs, features, and services.

We are at a turning point in education, and Online Campus Essentials is part of edX’s commitment to enabling the global academic community to deliver on student success outcomes and a better future for education, without the barriers of technology, access, or cost.
